Football Analyst Chris Sutton Battles Artist Murs in Premier League Forecasts
Arsenal's 10-game winning streak came to an end by Sunderland before the international break, however can the English top division frontrunners recover against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.
"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.
In the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.
The singer's new album, Knees Up, is available on Friday.
Soccer and Family Life
Olly is a talented footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not planning a professional return as a player.
"{I recently played in a charity game the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.
"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."
Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.
"I will not force football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their Saturday soccer team," he said.
"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a period too.
"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our side for two or three years and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Top Division Forecasts
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.
I still think this fixture will be fairly close, though. The Clarets are well organised and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
It smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.
The expert's prediction: 1-2
The singer's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple games - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look strong again.
West Ham's only on the road win this season came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest coach.
So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be West Ham continuing their streak under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?
I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.
The pundit's forecast: 2-0
The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season started, but they have impressed a several observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four matches.
A family member advised me to get Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.
The forward will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.
The Bees have not had great fortune on the road this term, and Brighton are consistently strong at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a danger.
Sutton's prediction: 2-1
Olly's view: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality proves to be quite tight. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six matches.
They have have lots of quality in their team but it still feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.
As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.
The away side's performance in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We've not seen anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.
The logical choice to do to back the visitors here, because they are obviously able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the close of last month.
However I am not do that. Instead, I truly need to continue opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good results because they clearly love to defy my predictions.
Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the only side they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.
The expert's forecast: 1-0
The guest's prediction: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a poor streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at home this season. 2-0
The algorithm's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a hard one to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but might they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
