Large-scale Moscow's Attacks Disrupt Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital
During the night, Russian aerial assaults have caused blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.
A number of civilians were hurt while inhabitants in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and dealt with interruptions to drinking water, as stated by municipal leaders.
Meanwhile, a young boy was fatally injured in a distinct Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, as reported by area administrators.
Moscow has increased attacks on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while the country's government has requested "concrete actions" from allies to exert influence on Russia.
"The necessity is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the America, European nations and the G7 - in delivering air defence systems and enforcing sanctions," was stated in a public message.
Authorities reported that 450 drones and more than 30 rockets struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.
Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were laboring to fix the damage.
A series of attacks damaged electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.
Five out of the nine people wounded in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by city authorities.
Local officials said the urban area came under intense attacks throughout the evening. A young boy lost their life and multiple civilians were wounded.
The assaults follow periods of air raids in the area, portions of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.
All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to spot.
National leaders told journalists that Moscow was purposely seeking to destroy the country's energy grid, with attacks already impacting gas facilities.
Authorities confirmed technical personnel and officials were bracing for additional strikes.
