Netflix Casts Ideal Star for Mr. 2 in One Piece Upcoming Installment
The Secret Organization is geared up to play a huge role in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, though the major clash won’t take place until the third season, and a beloved, audience-beloved member has recently been selected.
Netflix announced this week that Cole Escola is now part of the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will play Mr. 2. This character has the ability to morph into an exact copy of anyone they’ve touched with their main hand. The performer, who is non-binary and goes by they/them, will depict a interpretation of that figure re-envisioned as gender non-binary, as opposed to as a drag queen, in the real-life adaptation, unlike the initial comic and cartoon version.
Escola will work alongside several other fresh additions set to bring Baroque Works to the screen, featuring chief Sir Crocodile, brought to life by Joe Manganiello, a talented actress as another operative, and a familiar face, who is also part of the ensemble as the monarch of the fictional land.
Though Bon Clay is a key figure of Baroque Works, the individual will be introduced in One Piece the third season. With season 2 set to cover the Little Garden segment, this marks a significant shift in the timing of their first appearance, one that could suggest further changes to the plot development.
Their mix of sharp comedic timing and profound feeling makes them a ideal selection for the character. In addition to their recent voice performance in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and multiple awards for penning and acting in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, showcasing the versatility they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s highly regarded characters.
Netflix's live-action One Piece program is scheduled to come back for its season two on March 10, 2026.
