The Perfect Pokémon Legends: Z-A Mega Evolution Based on the Astrological Sign

This comeback of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked widespread enthusiasm across the fandom. Starting with the gradual reveal of newcomers before the title's launch, to players forming firm views on the full roster of Mega Evolutions, there's a lot for fans to look forward to.

Given many of the Super Forms showcasing distinctive designs that highlight their personalities, one thought came to mind: What's the best way to connect this with zodiac signs? This list is based on a mix of vibes, common zodiac traits, and individual observations.

The Ram – Super Camerupt

Honestly, Houndoom was almost selected for Aries, as both are the Super Form and astrological sign that evoke the most fear. However, a Mega Houndoom appears as always angry, which isn't typical of the Aries vibe, renowned for being fun, light-hearted, and spontaneous. This makes the Ram far more akin to Super Camerupt, which only spews lava when angered. Stay on the friendly side of both and benefit from a strong partner; if you cross them, prepare to face the consequences.

Taurus – Mega Heracross

Similar to a devoted Bull, the reliable Heracross species, whether in its standard and Super Form, has aided numerous trainers in Legends: Z-A. While trustworthy, each the creature and a Bull are also Fighting types, and – be it their companion or a strong opinion – will stand up for their side to the end. The thing about Super Heracross that reminds me most of my Bull-sign companions, though, is its unashamed passion for snacks. Several past Pokédex entries note their craving for tasty sap and how it employs its appendage to collect it all, which is true Bull-sign vibe.

The Twins – Mega Medicham

Look at this absolute queen. It's impossible to tell me this creature is not the soul of any gathering, providing an endless stream of chatter to anyone who wants to hear. Just like an enrapturing, sociable Gemini, it's very easy to envision Super Medicham mesmerizing an entire open area with their stories. Medicham’s Pokédex entry also states its ability to predict an opponent's future actions, which sounds quite similar to a people-smart Twins.

Cancer – Super Manectric

The Crab is widely considered as the most emotional member of the zodiac, a passionate sign known for frequently becoming absorbed in their emotions. Per the official info, Mega Evolution charges the creature with a “huge amount of electricity, but it's excessive for Manectric to fully manage,” which sounds a lot like a classic Cancer emotional outburst. It is also recognized for its ability to create a thundercloud over its own self – and if there’s a single trait a Cancer is likely to do, it’s spoil their own parade.

The Lion – Super Starmie

Well, did you think I was going to select Pyroar for the lion of the zodiac? Aside from the reality that it would be much too on the nose, The Lion is clearly Super Starmie, the diva whose legs just became an internet sensation for being too glamorous (or terrifying, depending on your taste). Fans were captivated from the violet starfish, and that’s precisely the same vibe a Lion offers to the table. This Pokémon is also said to be broadcasting signals from its center out into space, and it’s typical of a Lion to be staging a show, even if for aliens.

Virgo – Mega Victreebel

The ever-prepared and perpetually-anxious Maiden is perfectly encapsulated in Super Victreebel, the Super Form with perpetual acid reflux. The zodiac symbol famous for being charmingly critical is strongly reflected across this Pokémon’s whole evolutionary chain, from a perpetually shocked face like a Maiden when you inform them you don’t have a retirement plan, to its upside-down visage that’s just like the emoji a Maiden posts to the group chat when all says they want to “go with the flow” rather than making a plan.

The Scales – Mega Audino

Look at this sweet, empathetic being, who employs the feelers on its ears to detect how people are feeling by their pulse. Consistently empathetic – occasionally to a detriment – and trying to keep the peace, there are numerous Scales who would likely benefit from Super Audino's abilities. Though, let’s be honest, it would likely just make them worry even more about everyone else.

Scorpio – Mega Banette

Banette is a creature with a surprisingly tragic backstory: Abandoned as a toy, it became consciousness through pure resentment and swore revenge on its previous caretaker. Per the Pokédex, Super Evolution, “enhances its vindictiveness.” That seems exactly like many conversations I’ve had with my scary Scorpion friends. A Scorpion adores cosmic justice and retribution, making them the perfect match with Mega Banette.

Sagittarius – Super Hawlucha

Each Mega Hawlucha and Archers are always putting on a show. Being a Archer personally, the number of times I’ve called myself some variation of a “playful small jester” is innumerable. The showiest and most attention-seeking Super Form, its Pokédex entry even mentions how it “flexes to display its strength.” I would do the exact same thing if I had a Super Form, making Super Hawlucha the most fitting Archer match I can imagine.

The Goat – Mega Absol

Were you aware that a Super Absol has the ability to foresee calamities in advance? That gives the exact same vibe as a Goat, who often always think they’re right. Interestingly, similar to a prophetic Super Absol, they often are. It’s also the absolute initial Super Form that trainers meet in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Goat to join the beginning of the Super Form craze.

Aquarius – Mega Chandelure

Detached element Aquarius is possibly the non-flame placement that is closest to a fire sign – its sister sign is the Lion, and there are numerous jokes about the Archer and Water Bearer being chaotic accomplices. Super Chandelure's dual Spirit/Flame typing fits perfectly with this, and the Mega’s overall intimidating aura is also very Aquarius. If you hadn't yet persuaded, the Super Form's description says it “absorbs negative energy and transforms it into strength.” If that fails to perfectly {encaps
