The Renowned Musician Encourages Backing to Propel Together for Palestine Track to UK Christmas No 1.

A charity drive is aiming to launch a traditional song from Palestine to the top of the UK charts. The project hopes to deliver assistance to people in Gaza while also highlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

A Possibility for Support and an "Surprise Victory"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a opportunity to stand with Palestinians this festive season. He remarked the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“That would be amazing if that happened, yes,” he stated. “I’m not gonna be completely let down if it fails to, holiday tracks are a thing unto themselves.”

Defiant Message of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the reimagining of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's resilient spirit.

“It has a very special place for countless listeners,” Barghouti explained. “The message is that I would prefer a dignified death than live a life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we seek to lead a dignified life that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Contributing Musicians

The single was laid down following a major charity concert held in September. Initially planned to be captured during the live event, the rendition was cut from the show due to time constraints.

The notable list of artists appearing on Lullaby includes a range of prominent voices from the music world. All were part of the benefit event, which managed to collect a substantial amount for relief efforts.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was crafted by a team of music creators. The song showcases a fusion of the original Arabic with contemporary English verses.

The organizers behind the initiative have emphasized that their aim is to raise as much as possible for a charitable pot. These donations will be channeled to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“There is no a rigid aim,” a representative commented. “We will pursue the maximum achievable. Of course, the more the merrier. It all goes out to those in need in Gaza.”

The situation in the region was described as its widespread damage, with a vast majority of infrastructure reportedly in ruins or severely impacted.

“In that context, a few million won't make a massive dent. But I think the significant factor is primarily making this cause better known and showing the human dimension of the story.”

The track is scheduled for release this Friday. Additionally, a video of the charity concert will be made available for streaming on a digital service from mid-December.
